KC9702B QFN16 Servo Motor Drive Solution
Overview
KC9702B is a dedicated motor driver IC, integrated with a dedicated SoC featuring an H-bridge driver with N-channel and P-channel power MOSFETs, along with an LDO. This design is tailored for driving steering servos in electric toy vehicles.
The circuit features a wide operating voltage range (VM) from 2V to 6.5V. For steering wheel drive, it delivers a maximum continuous output current of 1.5A and a peak output current of 2.5A.
The driver incorporates built-in thermal protection. If the load current significantly exceeds the maximum continuous current, the limited heat dissipation capability of the package will cause the junction temperature of the internal chip to rise rapidly. Once this exceeds the set threshold (typically 150°C), the internal circuitry will immediately shut down the output power transistors, cutting off the load current. This prevents continuous temperature rise that could lead to safety hazards such as smoke or fire from the plastic package.
A built-in thermal hysteresis circuit ensures the IC only resumes normal operation after the temperature has returned to a safe level.
The chip adopts a QFN16 3x3 mm package and complies with RoHS standards.
